What's at stake with NBR Misconduct rule 69?

Gaslighting? Precisely what did I say that constitutes "gaslighting"? Lying? What lie did I tell? For the most part I have offered opinions, and even then not very many of them. The few that I posted generally agree that the OP screwed up; the only disagreement is the penalty and the use of Rule...

Fair enough, I didn't mean to criticize. It was intended as comment about SA, not you.

How well does an Iridium Go work without an external antenna?

Well, so much for Starlink as an option: https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/spacex-starlink-charge-5000-per-month-service-boats

What's at stake with NBR Misconduct rule 69?

Just one reason doxxing is a bad idea. Actually I don't think the vast majority of posters here disagree with this. I thought the issue at hand is, whether rule 69 is an appropriate remedy in this case. Why are we asking the skipper that? This guy was practically dragged into this thread by...

How well does an Iridium Go work without an external antenna?

How big and heavy is the Sailor Fleet One antenna? I googled around and couldn't find that info in the specs.

How well does an Iridium Go work without an external antenna?

Just did a quick check and a Sailor Fleet One is about $2,750. I thunk I'll get one of these for my next serious offshore, unless Starlink becomes feasible. But I didn't see an unlimited data or text plan, which is available for the Go.

What's at stake with NBR Misconduct rule 69?

Someone has to keep sailmakers in business.

What's at stake with NBR Misconduct rule 69?

It seems the people who want this guy hung out to dry mostly want it because of his anti-mask motivation, as opposed to his actual conduct. Although I understand his frustration, I won't defend his conduct; it was childish at best and certainly deserves some reprimand. We have seen much worse...

What's at stake with NBR Misconduct rule 69?

Our boat arrived at RBYC fairly early Tuesday. I left Bermuda Thursday afternoon. Almost no one at RBYC was wearing a mask, and from what I saw out and about in shops and restaurants in actual Bermuda, very few people were wearing them, and it was mostly staff. @sailforbeer described the...

What's at stake with NBR Misconduct rule 69?

The immigration station was in Newport at the offices of Sail Newport, which is near Ft Adams. NYYC was not involved in any way. The line was extremely long, with people waiting up to 3 hours to check in. It was a bit of extra frustration because it was more or less the same stuff we had all...

How well does an Iridium Go work without an external antenna?

This is the first thing I'll try. Walking around the docks after the N2B race, I saw many, many boats with their Go antennas mounted on the deck below the rails, as mine is. Still, it's worth a try. Another problem we had with this Go we used just last week on N2B, and I have had this problem...

    Looking for a J/111 J4 or J3.4

My ancient J4 for my J/111 finally gave up it's ghost, and is not on the way to that great sail loft in the sky (better known as a dumpster). New ones have long lead times, and I'm thinking there are some people who bought one to meet the rule and rarely used it. Anyone have a J4 or maybe a J3.5...

    J/125s Are AWESOME

I think they had the rig set to be overpowered deliberately for effect. If Cruise didn't like the result from San Diego, seems like he would want a lot of power. BTW, I need to open a bar. a J/125 is not particularly cheap, but she seemed to be able to afford one, even if the engine did need work.
