    Icebreakin’ on ‘Tonka

Yea that’s the ticket. 50 foot powerboat meets 4+ inches of Minnetonka ice.

Re PANBO, this is a very decent dive into what the Atlas 2 and RaceSense is all about. https://panbo.com/vakaros-atlas-2-racesense-the-promise-dual-band-gps/

You are absolutely right. The gear anarchy forum on SA is not our primary support tool. I've been helping new or potential customers all weekend on our support system... I've probably sent 40 messages this weekend alone. The Panbo post is part of that number. Send a message via or site or...

Lion, Yea, this is the crappy part of this whole parts/logistics mess. After 20 years in the business you have a feel for how this works, you secure your key parts supply, make sure your PCB and BOM are solid, check your moldings, do a DVT and you go. Your partners tell you what's what and when...

Indeed. IIRC they no longer support the internal compass. Good news is that we have a pretty solid sensor suite in the Atlas.

Totally on the right track. Yes mast height is now stored in the boat profile, and used in the geometry measuring sensor movement.

Recognizing that this is a public forum, I'm going to be a bit cagey. But NB that the Calypso sensor was originally designed for agriculture uses; probably its biggest market. So typically a fixed mounting position; not mounted to the top of a sailboat mast. Its obviously going to be effected...

Hey all, sorry been rather busy the last few days. Some thoughts and comments. First re RaceSense. We're been working on RaceSense for years. The announcement was timed really to allows us to start talking openly with with RCs about Fleet RaceSense. The interest from RCs, YCs and PROs has been...

Copy that, why don’t you drop me a PM and then we can schedule a call and compare notes. Interested to know what you’re thinking.  In its simplest most common form, the races will be short Windward/leewards. But in more sophisticated scenarios it will be well, more sophisticated. Looking forward...

Ryley,  Great question! There will be a way to enter a TOD/TOT handicap value in your boat profile on the atlas. If the profiles values racing are not all the same, the boat will the race will be scored handicap.

Yes it is, in beta mode. That only means that we have to 'help' with the device Bluetooth ID at config. The shipping version of the Atlas 2 SW will support it fully, and that will also work with the Atlas 1.

Hey all, sorry for the radio-silence here; when I swapped between my and the company account the notifications got turned off! Anyhow: We are days away from announcing the delivery date; lots of moving parts but its come together. The BEST way to know is to subscribe to our mailings; do that...

    Best 22 foot racing sailboat?

Love the U20, but if kelp is an issue, leave this one off the list. We have a kind of freshwater kelp (Milfoil) on Lake Minnetonka, anf the shit simply STOPS the boat. I've taking to jumping in, and while holding on at the shroud base, putting my feet on the keel and pushing it down and off...

    New Beneteau First 36

Well, the class IS looking for a builder... or at least someone to store the molds.  Funny enough, I had an email exchange with JA yesterday.
