I guess we need to remove Blair from all these conversations now. It is clear that Pete is the sole reason for all the success. Only skippers count. Pete could have won all that with a trained monkey. Blair is a huge disappointment.

By no means am I saying Matt is not deserving of this because he 100% is an absolute legend. As evidenced by the fact that he has also already won the award.
So this year he is nominated for winning the worlds and europeans, and hempel series. Which by his standards is a pretty average year...
I see your point. But I still think anybody that can win 3 world championships in a row is a pretty special talent.
Also I don't see where it is mentioned that age is a factor in the result.

What is your issue with Marco winning the award? I think it's an incredible achievement to win 3 world championships in that class when you have to be under 16 to compete. Sailors develop so fast at that age to win a worlds at 14 is incredible.
