    Brexit WTF, WTF

US mainstream media point of view on brexit Brit productivity falling with much pain in the future. this article supports flamings experience with productivity and hiring for his apprentices. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/11/22/brexit-britain-falling-productivity-gdp/ None of...

    Brexit WTF, WTF

Hmm.... push came to shove..... and THAT is the issue... a few years ago.... the US population overreacted to the Ebola outbreak.(angola??).. something like 5 US cases ... caught over seas.... Nurses were locked into isolation tents in parking lots by R governors.. the fear was stoked...

    Brexit WTF, WTF

Are you Brits divided because the average Brit is ignorant about the basics of modern economics and finance and are easily played by actors driving their lizard brain reactions and stoking an overwhelming cynicism... Or are they divided at the level of their core values... They still get...

Lasers - Applying a Blow Torch

how about the quirky National Prescriptions.... eg US Coast Guard approved vests... Not Euro vests.... Per US Sailing perscriptions... or my all time favorite... the throwable for boats 18 feet and up! per US coast guard regulations.

    2022 A Cat Worlds

Simon wrote... " We must not hold another worlds where there aren't enough safety assets on the course AT ALL TIMES. " What are the details here? ....   How many mark boats... How many safety boats?  how many were ribs able to function in 22k with a big sea state?  What are the qualifications...

    A-Cat Exploder A16

You might want to wait until the worlds are over in Houston at the end of the month and see how many of the international competitors really want to take the boat back with them.

    Time on Time Scoring

Care to guess how many PHRF racers know this principle?..... even better... how many agree with it? It's a bit like US Portsmouth and RYA Portsmouth.   The US believed that they could statistically determine the top performance independent of sailor by taking the first place finisher of each OD...

Same standard... is it good enough?   How  transparent or subject to fuckery is it.  Can most OA's run and score the race fairly?  Could be worse... try handicapping beach cats with foilers and floaters.

"USSS is not interested".   TRUE!  because they follow the users... they only want the role of facilitator... not leader....    So...  the fuckery will continue because the users want it that way.  sailors have a dna based aversion to big sailing telling them what to do! a national phrf system...

So.... in a nutshell, KWRW and PHRF then are the best implementation of a PHRF system in the US,  PHRF can work well and most importantly,   a consensus of racers (probably top 1/3 in their local areas)  agreed with the two of you that it was fair because they continued to sped their money year...

    Time on Time Scoring

Got the point....  The implementation has no correction mechanism for fixing fuckery...    the hey... its good enough doesn't pass any kind of test in the implementation across the country.      When you get statements like...."Phrf just plain sucks and is the biggest reason that people quit...

is it the implementation that you have experienced or the principle and design of that handicap? Something else?

    Time on Time Scoring

Could well be!...  but the question is... how much of a consensus does your fleet have that PHRF is adequate.   Stuart Walker in writing about one design fleets focused the efforts of the fleet captains on the last guy in the pecking order...  His argument... when you loose that guy.... you have...

Yes, there are lots of ways to game the PHRF system.......  This is the first one that I have heard of going the direction of more fair.    Props!    Glad that somebody is putting the Gentleman back into the definition of Corinthian Sailing.
