That sounds like a good idea on the surface.... but when you think more about it, there might be some things that happen on FH that we may not want to see.

Without knowing more about the photo, it is hard to say if your analysis is accurate of flawed. Lens distortion could account for some of the curvature that can be seen in the photo.

as this shows the 'frames' appear to be 48" on center and the 'stringer' appear to be 6" on center. no indication of how the floors are to be installed.

So, now it's up to HR Jr to complete the repairs, modifications and head off to the high seas. I expect that FH will just get abandoned where she currently sits. I story now should be that HR is a flight risk, since he (or at least thinks he does) have the means and the plans to flee the...

x 100! ... this always seems to happen to the "nicest" people. and since there is already a complaint on file, it will be given much more credence.

HR'FH: So would you consider clearing the air and tell us what is happening from your viewpoint? Many are wondering about the rig. What is the proposed sail plan?

Other than what has already been stated (not tinned, not water proof) Romex is also a solid conductor, only stranded conductors should be used on a boat.

The only good thing is the HR built a boat (and I use that term in the broadest possible sense) and not a plane.

This is the rub, people will be expected to put their lives at risk to 'drag our asses out of the bay'. Do what you want, it's your life, but don't expect people to come rescue you when/if it all goes bad.

You're missing a very important point. Typically floors are installed to be level and the hull stringers are slanted. There is one aspect of the FH design (or lack there of) that will give a few problems. Since there is a great deal of flex in the hulls and the hulls splay out depending on...

I, for one would, like to hear from lilmurray about his opinion on the structural integrity of the hull. As always lilmurray has been an excellent source of first hand information on the project. Lilmurray: Thanks for your posts to date on this project.

I also hope that his goals change. He has accomplished a great deal (not in any way that would allow him succeeding at his final goal) and it would be a shame to see it all end in an epic failure. The boat would make a great seashore hot dog stand if it was dragged out of the water now. There...
