    .... or you could have stripped it, cleaned it then painted it with Kiwigrip, once and done. I'm not at all impressed with the crushed shell, sand or cork in paint approach myself. Nobody that goes to sea for pleasure is 'normal' anyway so it's not worth worrying about. FKT

    Yeah pretty much. I admired his sailing exploits - mostly - but he was the sort of guy who, were we sharing an anchorage, I'd make sure there were no loose tools or gear anywhere in sight. FKT
