    Historical I-14 references

Notice the Vermilion, OH. Reason I'm sailing 14s now! That is also where the 1st Thistle was built in a sail loft on the Vermilion River, which is now a famous French Restaurant. Learned to sail on the little river.

Ya, I can appreciate that, but they sold it with the information available both live as well as on their app. I'm definately not a computer guy, but if you advertise something and sell it at a fixed cost then take what you sold away, the seems like theft to me. I was happy with what was...

I've had ProStart as well and it was great for what it was. But it didn't have the features I really wanted to help with training. I like the Sailmon product, just think it is complete bullshit that they sell and product with features and then 1 1/2 - 2 yrs. later take those features that the...

Has anyone else had the same situation with the Sailmon instrument? Bought one a few yrs ago and has worked great, did all the things they said it would from the beginning. About 5-6 most ago they advertised for additional 'Upgraded Gold Subscription' they offered 'advanced analytics. Since...

    Australian Skiffs

No, probably 12ish feet. Slightly smaller than a 29er I'd guess, but home built with better rigs and sails.

    Australian Skiffs

Great little boats the JDs, learned of them at 14 worlds at aforementioned Perth Dinghy Club. Was very tempted to throw one I the container coming back to the states to shows the local Jrs. what it's like learning to skiff sail in other countries.

    International 14 Worlds 2022

Definitely a little anxiety this morning.. Glen’s proven to take 7 races in a row at POW week and Andy has shown he’s capable to follow closely lap after lap. Normally a sign of a faster boat! Either could take straight firsts for the last three races, but probably not with both fighting for...

    International 14 Worlds 2022

Sounds like next Worlds - Garda 2024, which was already on the books but pushed back and year as were the current GER Worlds due to Covid. Then Kingston, CAN 2026. Still to be approved, but should go through easily I would think.

    International 14 Worlds 2022

I14 Worlds Day 4: Races 3 & 4 After no wind on Sunday, we got two races in yesterday in a 8-14 knot NW wind which is straight across the Fjord. The windward mark just 100 yds under the trees… During our warm up run, I smacked my knee into the vang controls. Serious pain and had to wait 10...

Bummer, wondered what happened? Sorry for your PIA. Certainly not the first time people bail. Ugh!

    International 14 Worlds 2022

Day #2 report from Archie I14 Worlds Day 2: Much less wind forecast today and was expecting foredeck weather or perhaps a no-sail.. We definitely prepped ourselves for having to dig ourselves out of a deep start position if we didn’t get clear quickly.. The start was moved early to 11am as the...

    International 14 Worlds 2022

Finally! Thanks Archie Race 1 i14 Worlds: We’d arrived early, not the full week early as for winning years but a good few days.. We were greeted with two great days sailing with morning and afternoon sessions. We feel dialled in to our new...

505 guys were nervous as well. They shipped 2 mos ahead of event and there were no guarantee the boats get there in time, nor definitive costs. Hope it works for them. We just didn't have the numbers. Was not a full container so initial costs about 5K/boat.

    International 14 Worlds 2022

https://i14worlds2022.com Team racing starts tomorrow. The individual Worlds on Thur. Only 2 USA boats there, both chartered from the GER fleet as the shipping was going to be astronomical and unsure if would even get there from west coast. No AUS boats there either. See at least 5-6...

N2E 2022. Too early to start the thread?

Steve Fossett?  We were back at the Police Docks in SD at 1000 in 2017 on the Merlot!

18 footer 2022 JJ Giltinan World Trophy

Not sounding great due to costs and how long would lose boat and "will it get there on time". Shipping from west coast in/out is still horrible.  Hold up on both sides of canal.  Would have to send at least 2 mos. early,  who knows when might get boat back.  Plus costs probably starting at 3-4...

Have a great B5 available, or B6 actually as I'm not sure which Id rather keep.  But will only sell to someone who will sail it.  Too many great boats get sold away never to be seen again!

    J hooks for continuous trapeze

Tried on Hobies yrs. ago.  More PIA than worth.  Good point above about series bit or stainless flopping around and whacking you in the teeth.
