Black Jack has a new keel. 1t lighter and 1m deeper. Might have something to do with it.
Not sure why blackjack would be classed as heavier. They can drop the water ballast out when it's light.
Both kinds, light and shitty, especially on Raptor. 4-8 knots most races. Race 3 was a cluster, breeze swung 45' on start so a reach to top and no gybes to bottom. 40-60min races for most boats, Raptor won all except race 3 which they just missed out on by less than ten seconds by 1-2 minutes...
Larso, you and the rest of the team are legends, as a bay sailor with no desire to head offshore your journey was amazing to watch and it's great you take the time to chat about it here.
No doubt that Shackleton was an extraordinary man, amazing to think what he, and many other early explorers...
Barney Army beats Me Off, thanks to them being OCS by 2 lengths. They caught right back up at Steiglitz, but it got shy after that and we wriggled away again and stretched out again. Maybe 5 mins at the finish. The Bad Grandpa boys sailed well and cleared out, but the new little Egan called...
Well the Barney Army will be there, gotta love this race, it was purpose built for Elliott 7's. Never miss a good opportunity to yell at the dumb fkn Multihull whackers who love to sail over the top of you then stop. The E7 intergalactic drain racing championships luckily co incide with this...
Just over 3 days to deliver Blackjack to Sydney, with a 6 hr wait in Binelong Bay for the wind to abate at Flinders then a 24 motor across the straight. Fun delivery, Alex is fantastic on the boat incredible respect for him he knows his shit! Ryan is also a legend, you can tell he's done 2 trips...
Well done to the Black Jack team. Tore mainsail in 1/2 60miles out. Put the trisail up and sail back into fourth. Well done, now I fly down to bring her home.
