Having foiled on an A a few times during those foil R and D videos, personally I'm of the view of fly or die.
You can't match the sensation of foiling nearly dead downwind to the true wind in 8 knots of breeze, and foiling on the wire is amazing. It makes the boat easier to sail, because you...
The other video from the weekend, doing some work downwind on the wire, then tacking drills towards the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZSXbnqVROw
I'd say no more then 14 knots for the whole day session, probably averaging 10-12. The moths around me were coming off the foils in the lulls, it was all over the place at times.

Latest testing video from the weekend, complete with commentary as I sail along. The boards are setup to automatically go to the best angle for whatever conditions you are in at the time.
The pricing is acctually about the same as the G6, the aim is to have a premium product at a price that fits the market. Sometimes the premium product wins out anyway, like you can get a crappy tablet for $90 at the supermarket, but most people still buy iPads.
Dario's angle is to make top quality products. He is obsessed with really nice detailing and finish. He wants to make a top end product because he thinks some people appreciate that. For example there was a kayak race blocking our path to the water recently, and a manufacturer was displaying...
The main foils aren't reversible Doug, the kink you see up the top is so you can angle the board from nearly vertical (light airs) to the class inboard limit by pushing it down so the top curve is in the case. The lower curve is around 40mm inside the case in light air mode, this keeps the exit...
We had a great day on the water sailing Paradox version 2 today. It accelarates very well, tacks nicely and is generally very lively and responsive. It has the same number of control lines a a normal A, all led in clever ways that takes the workload off me and allows me to keep the boat going...
Latest leaked photos from carbonicboats, showing some of the different foils tested so far, and bearings, rudder boxes, just interesting stuff that's starting to accumulate that shows the projects still steaming along behind the scenes.
Hey everyone, back from a very productive weekend testing. Here is the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_ECZHyy-wo
My personal opinion is foiling is the coolest thing ever. Its like sailing your own fighter jet. You can't pitchpole if your bows are that high out of the water. The speed...

Not sure why it won't embed, sorry.
The Mayfly and the Paradox are totally different. The Mayfly lacked the outwards bend on the top of the foils that allows you to straighten the boards up in light air, so the Mayfly was sailing around with the foils in the reaching position. (We sail around with them at different heights...
Two boat testing is coming, We tried to organize it for this weekend but there wasn't anyone around. There wasn't much chance to do any before Christmas because all the good boats were still coming back from Florida. There also wasn't much chance to race since there was no nationals, so the...
