What brands from the 70s/80s would you resurrect?

The slope is what you can make it. Never understood the "steep" for the sake of "steep". Deep powder maybe. In the old days of Whistler, pre-tourist trap, I found that most of the challenging runs ended up on the side hill. Not fall line skiing. Back Bowl or the Peak maybe. I competed/skied in...

What brands from the 70s/80s would you resurrect?

Vuarnet sunglasses huh? We'd always lose them out sailing. Friggin' expensive to lose. We started to get the Chinese knock off's on the market. People would say: Are those "Vuarnet's" I'd reply: "No - these are Phunet's" .

What brands from the 70s/80s would you resurrect?

Ya, I tried Graves too. I'm not a big guy so I found them pretty springy too. Bloody bulletproof though. The big downhillers with Lange boots loved them.

Good ole' Hexcel! And I was going to say about with the core. In our repair shop on the hill we saw a few of those get flattened. One them had a failure of the side walls and became a trapezoidal shape. Pretty funny actually. I think there was ski maker that alleviated the problem using foam...

Looks like Wayne was about to do a "Wong Banger". Didn't know him really as he was on Mt. Seymour where I was on Grouse Mt. Did ski with his brother Mik Wong though.  I lived near the base of Grouse near Edgemont Village. After school, we would go up Grouse and night ski until close at 10PM. 7...

What brands from the 70s/80s would you resurrect?

That was the point. More and more (power or sail) as a "first" boat 35' and up. I have had 5 boats from a Ranger 22 to the 38 I have now. The first of them I was in my 20's as my family were professional mariners or had a pleasure craft as well. It's what you did. It's as much a lifestyle.

What brands from the 70s/80s would you resurrect?

The real problem is that builders aren't interested in building boats of that size except the Bunters etc. It doesn't pay.

What brands from the 70s/80s would you resurrect?

A remember that as the original Dash's had a problem with cavitation with the rudder. I had sailed these early and you got hit by a big gust and you helm went for a shit. No steering. I think Laurie made mention (more muttering under his breath) of that at one point that the rudder wasn't his...

What brands from the 70s/80s would you resurrect?

They do. Still have my investing cast S/S Barients. Probably go through a thermal nuclear event with these. But I really use them for drink holders now!
