Sorry, not so - short skis came well before the boards - late 60's / early 70's. Short skis have been around since shortly after leather ski boots disappeared. I wuz there. Snowboards were around in the 60's - after a fashion - but they were about the equivalent of the early "skateboards"...

Actually, the transformation came before that. Short skis changed things. Back in the 60's I skied on 210 Cm skis. :D Weren't gonna be doing any backflips on those suckers. The rule was you reached straight up and your wrist was how long the skis should be. Someone had the idea of teaching...

It's an old term for it. I did most of my skiing on Apex so Grouse was not exactly a challenge. We also regarded Big White and Silver Star as pretty lightweight skiing - except that cliff at Big White. :o Whistler BITD was the only mountain that Apex skiers had any respect for.

You must have been early into stunt skiing Maxx - Gross Mountain is too much of a bunny hill for anything else. Sure does have a view like no other ski hill - probably anywhere.

I found with lazyjacks that clipping them to the mast before raising the sail worked best. Deploying them before dropping the sail never caused any hangups for me.

For the cat rig I suspect the wishbones would be better - from my book learnin' anyway. I was wondering if any had been conventionally rigged - sloop or cutter.

Except it wasn't a 1/4 Pounder. It was a Mini-Ton. It wasn't particularly slow for its day either - PHRF is around 220, the same as 1/4 Tonners of a couple of years earlier.
