I must be watching a different video?  The one at the bottom of the OP link has the plane going off-camera around 10 seconds and goes immediately to the plane in the water....

I thought it was difficult to see that from the camera angle??

Okay, thanks!  I know a local ex-Navy guy, he manages one of the small local Safe Harbor marinas.  He said when they weren't on duty, they would always go and watch the flight deck action!

I believe the Marine Corps version is the only one with STOVL capability.

Where did you find a video?  The video on the CNN story linked only showed F35's landing with their cockpit canopy in place; this one was blown when the pilot ejected.
