With the J3, ya had to hand prop the engine or none of the screens or flight instruments or accessories worked. It was literally fly by wire using actual wire.  ;)  It was a blast.

Upthread was a mention of every few landings done manually to keep pilot skills up. Apparently the computers get it right every time.

I'll cite if I can find it but Twitter indicated that the crew was injured by landing gear parts. 

Someone opined on Twitter that there's likely a US sub right next to it by now or soonish. The Chinese have thrown a headfake that they "weren't interested." Sure Jan.

I read the Navy wants to find the photographer/"leaker."  Would have been nice to keep this under wraps 'til we recovered the plane.
