    All things Class40

The second/third tier of Class 40s are the amateurs living the dream and young guns trying to come through. Usually older boats, smaller budgets, less fit sailors, less training miles. The early fronts would have been tough if you weren't 100% ready. It looked like a few had preparation problems...

Nice to see a range of countries, designers and boat models at the front of the RdR fleet. Time in the boat and having it sorted still counts. 1 182 Richomme FRA Lombard Lalou 2022 Lift V2 2 181 Beccaria ITA Guelfi San Giorgio 2022 Musa 40 3 176 Douget FRA Lombard v1d2 2022 Lift V2 4...

    All things Class40

Agreed. I am a bit grumpy at myself for not making more of an effort during the week but it has been full on family wise as it is the end of the school year down in NZ. I was particularly wanting to view through the various generations to get an idea of where I'd like to be in years to come vs a...

    All things Class40

One of the most underwhelming stopovers ever. Absolutely no press and no mention of any boat / skipper viewing opportunities. Thought this might be interesting TJV placings vs age date. Always plenty of variables with quality of crew and no account of damage but interesting. Certainly seems that a season with the boat sorts out the issues and crew. The Mach 40 hung in best of the older boats - 8, 11 & 17...

170 Launched. 4 month buld time is quick. I assume they used existing moulds. I was a bit confused by the translation. They moved the rig back because the other boats felt soft? What  was this referring to - lack of helm? If so why not change rake or rudders?

I recall the Verdier Seahorse article from a year or so ago regarding a bow chop being a cost effective option. Has anyone seen any info regarding what series models would be good to add a scow bow to vs those that don't have the right lines?

In front of the Volvo 70 in the Transat race. Impressive. Redman had rudder issues but was already behind.
