The second/third tier of Class 40s are the amateurs living the dream and young guns trying to come through.
Usually older boats, smaller budgets, less fit sailors, less training miles. The early fronts would have been tough if you weren't 100% ready. It looked like a few had preparation problems...
Nice to see a range of countries, designers and boat models at the front of the RdR fleet. Time in the boat and having it sorted still counts.

TJV placings vs age date. Always plenty of variables with quality of crew and no account of damage but interesting. Certainly seems that a season with the boat sorts out the issues and crew.

I was a bit confused by the translation. They moved the rig back because the other boats felt soft? What was this referring to - lack of helm? If so why not change rake or rudders?
