The manufacturer says give it some throttle, as does the guys at Mack boring. It certainly works better on my 3gm- loneshark64

Don’t worry too much. Yanmars are durable beasts. Hit the gas, turn the key, say “full power, Scottie” and push the button.- loneshark64
