    The Hard Way

Anyone know how the sailing was down the back side of Santa Cruz island onboard the Farr 400? Wondering what sort of boat speeds they saw.

    The Hard Way

Excuse the terrible skills of using the extremely complex GoPro - LOL!. Here is a short clip of the Olson 40 nearing the West end of Santa Cruz island. Winds were approximately 23-28 knots at this time. The winds doubled as we screamed down the back side towards Gull rock.

    GoPro

Looking for help to determine the best GoPro to purchase. The camera will be used by a young person on small boats, as well as miscellaneous use. I see there is the Black Edition, White Edition, The HERO, etc. Prices seem to range from $200-500+/-. Not trying to be skimpy on the money, but I...

    Tohatsu 3.5 outboard problem

I had a chance to spend some time on the engine last night and voila! Took apart the carburetor, cleaned the bowl, float, and jets. Then made sure the fuel on/off valve was clear with fuel running cleanly through the hoses, put it back together and BAM! Fired right up and ran in all different...

    Tohatsu 3.5 outboard problem

I have a nice Tohatsu 3.5, 2-stroke and am currently exeriencing problems. It has run fine for years, is kept clean and fresh water cleansed after each use. A number of months ago it began to sputter and require some playing of the choke to keep it running. Then it would not start and if it did...

    Viper 640 electronics

Still need to read up on the class legal information regarding electronics for the Viper 640, but was curious as to what seems to either be the best or most used electronic device for this class boat? Obviously aware of One-Design criteria, ie: fleet managment, starts, strategy, tactics, etc...

    USA Network - The Moment

Anyone heard of this? America's Cup Sailor opportunity on a reality TV series type show with Kurt Warner. It takes a minute, then it goes to the sailing. http://www.google.co....43148975,d.cGE You need to click on "Watch full episode premiere" to see the sailing.

    FJ jib sheets

APS said 30', but that seemed long. This will be used with spinnakers, not necessarily wing on wing with skipper holding. 25' sounds pretty good.

    FJ jib sheets

I know, I know, take it to Dinghy Anarchy. I needed an answer quickly and I knew you all would be quick and helpful. What is the correct length for jib sheets on an FJ? Thanks in advance.

    Is it Melges or Melges?

Great, now it seems as though it should have been a poll. I've got one post saying hard G and another saying soft G. I'm right back where I started from. Though I appreciate the answers, I am tired of walking around saying it one way then saying it the other way - LOL.

    Is it Melges or Melges?

It may have been asked once or a dozen times so I apologize if it has been discussed. Is the name Melges pronounced Melgez or Meljez? Thank you for the help.
