My guess is that they are unable to get new Sunfish and this is a way to salvage their business. I agree with you.

From a design protection perspective, I expect that the massive deck difference would prevent any judge or jury from siding with Laser Performance.

Looks like a Sunfish and a Rocket had a baby. Bummer that they use a clear knock off of the Sunfish rudder. Would have been nice to see something more modern since it seems like common knowledge that the Sunfish rudder could be better.
