Thrown the ball? It’s a second hand V1 boat with two old mismatched foils.
can we just wait until an team actually put the race boat out there in its final configuration before we go and judge people for throwing any balls?
Fun thing from that vid is seeing where the main actually sheets from, you can see the tension lines radiating through the main, a good 6 ft inboard of the leech, should help set up a nice bit of twist should they Need it
Auckland =flat as fuck
Barcelona =ridiculous sea state (even in that vid there was decent swell)
when seas state exceeds the gap between the hull and the surface you will either beach or splash down. that’s what happening
Appologies
4himself thinks the kiwis not winning in France is full domination of a series so on that basis GB that haven't won the AC makes them the most dominant AC contender
You know they are different events? Like they have absolutely nothing to do with each other in terms of the boats, the teams, the personnel, the shore crew, the event management, the organisers, the sponsors venues, etc
Dominant? Nit won a title.
team oz, won both years..
even if NZ win the title this year they still won’t be half as successful as the dominant Aus team
Do you remember that time when you said that sail GP was for failures and utterly useless and wasn’t proper sailing yet here you are hitched up on the coat tails clinging on for glory
because everyone else does.
Anyway isn’t There in New Zealand for sale GP thread you can be wanking yourself...
Yup I do, and I stand by it. If they were as good as you make out they would’ve hit the ground running not taking two fucking years and copying everybody else’s homework to get up to speed.
I know you don’t believe that’s the case because russel said it that they only got up to speed when they...
No it’s not the original boat as it’s been modified/refitted , nor is it confirming to the rule.
basics like different foils on each side make it non compliant instantly
Trickle indeed. https://www.sailingscuttlebutt.com/2022/08/25/photos-storm-damage-in-corsica/
incase you were unaware boats getting flattened in lots of wind has become pretty regular recently…
They didn’t even have foils, were at anchor and more stable than the AC yachts… whatever next.
Thank goodness for all this shared nothing to hide media it’s really allowing a true insight As to the exact blue that they used to paint the boat and to the AM foils they have..
So they raided the AM toy box for what were the smallest and fastest foils with a bunch of people that knew how they worked as well as the guy that trimmed the most advanced sail set up. And also got the kiwi boat and it’s blended foil and two arm designs. Decent start I suppose;-)
fun times ahead
