It’s 8:10 pm, Saturday evening on the coast of Maine. Dinner is done(for just one tonight, easy), the dishes are put away.  I have a recommendation:  Birch, well dried and with some bark still on to dazzle the cabin with light, is a very good hardwood for a small fireplace on an old boat.

My wife that worked at a school for photography for several years reminds me, "All the instructors roll their eyes at sunset pics from the students". The message being, sunsets, lots of light, plenty of time with a camera in one hand a sundowner in the other,  are easy?  On the other hand...

After 20 years of living on the edge of Penobscot Bay, we haven't run out of new places to anchor for the night, within 20 miles of home.
