Don't know much about weather in Wellington but https://blog.metservice.com/Windy-Wellington suggests strong southerlies tend to be driven by depressions. I'm sure there are those here who can put me straight if that is wrong. By contrast, here is a surface level chart for Europe on Thursday...

Would another team want to sell its design package to Alinghi? Doubt it.

I installed that on Firefox after someone here recommended it. I uninstalled it a few weeks later when Firefox marked it as malware. Whether it is in fact malware, I'm not certain. Just saying. Disabling Javascript and/or cookies on a website takes 10 seconds and is worth a try.

20 days of a 3 month window, one of which has gone. You'd think a bit of a giddy-up would be in order. 24.2.f As an exception to the restrictions above, if a New Competitor purchases a Version 1 AC75 Yacht, such New Competitor will be entitled to sail that Version 1 AC75 Yacht for a maximum of...

Look on the bright side. We don't get "athletes" standing in alpha male posture, with their arms crossed and an "Oi, did you look at my bird?" expression. As used in most of the AC team videos of recent years.

Make that "attempted backend upgrade". It was rolled back. There's a thread on the main SA sailing forum.

Yes. I remember reading a lot of what I thought was speculative BS, much of which turned out to be well on the mark.

I'm no mathematician, I only have a degree in it. Fluid dynamics tends to be taught as one subject because the maths initially applies to all kinds of fluids. To make it more tractable, you can then make simplifications such as whether the fluid is incompressible or whether viscosity can be...

Is that so? I think you'd find the mathematics that describe wings that product downforce and foils that produce lift have more than a little in common, as well as some differences (air being compressible, water not so much). The subject of my 1st degree's dissertation, as it happens.

Not really anything to do with the LHC.

Only the Swiss part of the circle. P.S. The literal minded don't need to explain CiC to me. It's a weak joke.

See protocol 30.2. Nationality is based on either being a passport holder or being resident at least half-time over a 3 year period in March 2018-2021 i.e. prior to the AC37 cycle. It's got nothing to do with having been employed by a team. Psarofaghis was born in Switzerland so at a guess, he...

I see no particular signs of that. Usually by this point in the cycle there are multiple wannabes talking themselves up. Not much this time.
