Wow - that's quite a rant out of the blue. You may find the play "Book Of Mormon" entertaining. Written by the South Park people. I saw it in the West End over Xmas vacation - it's a highly amusing combination of history lesson, blasphemy and maggots in the scrotum. Not for the faint of heart.
I have 20 mbps from a fixed directional wireless link to some access point on the top of the next mountain. That connects to Google mesh boxes in the house to give me Wifi coverage. Cellphones are enabled for WIFI calling, security uses the wireless, and I watch TV using YoutubeTV. There's...
My 18yo has been invited by his buddy to go duck hunting. I'm planning to send him with my 870 Magnum. I don't know anything about shooting ducks, and neither does he. What loads and what choke do I need to get? This adventure starts Saturday AM, so it's basically whatever I can get from BassPro...
I watched the ultrasound of them putting the nerve block in - very interesting. Also, I think a beginner was doing it because there was an older doctor telling her what to do - push here, drive around that, don't poke such and so etc. Lots of crunching and popping sounds as they were making...
Had my second rotator cuff rebuild in 2 years last Friday. Still have the nerve block in and working well - it probably runs out of juice sometime this evening or early tomorrow. This time it was a lot more comfortable than the last - they did a biceps tenodesis with that one and I'm sure that...
Saddle stitch it, with the seam at the bottom of the wheel when rudder amidships. The existing cover has a similar seam, so I don't think it's an issue for function or cosmetics - I just didn't want 3 or 4 seams, which is why I screwed around with the spiral.
The broomhandle/bandsaw idea...
My wife bought a dog. It's cute as a button and made up of a mix of stuff that includes bichon, poodle and a couple of other things. It was also expensive. To SWMBO, she is a princess and a handbag dog, ladies companion. In reality, it's just a "mutt with marketing", which wifey bit on hard.
My...
Progress so far...
I decided to try making my own leather cover and sewing it myself. I bought a piece of suede hide (about 40"x50"). The problem with that is it's too small to cut into a seamless circle, and to cut into strips it would require a lot of ugly joints. So I cut out a spiral 4"...
Yeah - The underlying foam is in good shape, and is glued on. I'm not looking forward to removing it. I'd prefer to leave it alone. This job is going to be a pain in the ass because I'm going to have to do it with the wheel on the boat. The stainless bolts are siezed into the boss of the wheel...
The leather on my steering wheel has worn out, cracked and flaked in a few places - 30 years, it did it's job. I want to replace and there are a bunch of companies out there with kits. Before I jump in with both feet, buy the kit and get started peeling off the remaining old leather, do you guys...
Yeah - but M4 is for euro eco pussies jerking themselves off to "how to fix my own eyeglasses on YouTube". I'm talking about a rusted solid 5/16 waterpump bolt, or bent cylinder head stud, or the hub bolts on the boat trailer that's been dipped in salt water every couple of weeks for 25 years...
I have tried EZ Out multiple times.. Never successful. Worst case scenario is it breaks off and jams in the hole, best case is that it breaks off and it's removable with some effort. Shit idea.
Welding on a nut is the way to go. I saw a YouTube on how to make a weld down the hole using some...
