Just watched the highlights of the event on SF bay . The AC is going to have to really work to come up with racing as exciting as this event but with so few boats its going to be quite a chore. And to think that one of our most prolific posters here GURANTEED that the sail GP would never hit...
Understood . Sort of like the 20 min sprint races dumbed down for the new masses that never really showed up for what used to be the “ pinnacle of sailing “ the America Cup :)

The fact that he guarantees that there will be an AC37 is cause for concern . He Is the same guy that was 100% positive that Sail GP would never see the light of day and what season are they in now ?
And this is exactly why so many actual sailors have lost all interest in the AC . The days of being able to walk into any yacht club and strike up a conversation about anything AC related , with rare exception , are over . Being a able to watch a pro do your job wether it be the bow , pit etc...

Tune in 3 min before the start, watch two min after then go grab a bite to eat, come back in 45 min and repeat .

So this could be a very convenient AC. Tune in at the three min mark watch the start , watch two more min , find something else to do for 45 min and then come back and repeat. Hell even the commentators agree with me , how many times are they going to talk about the non existent passing ?
I'm going to take a wild guess that you are not a grinder . Pairs are stronger than solo as when you are on your power stroke ( over hand ) your opposing partner is in the weaker position ( underhand ) and you balance the power output.. As for power differences between the grinders those balance...
