    Dell Laptop Lemon?

25+ years dealing with our techs in IT. - HP, Dell, Lenovo - it doesn't matter. At one point or another, each vendor will put out batches of shitty laptop models. I've seen the "We're never buying XXX again" - to switch to "YYY" then, a year later, "YYY" has an issue causing them to send...

I could live there ... or not ...

Not liking cities, having lived in and visited cities up and down the west coast most my early life, I wanted country rural living. My Grandpa said when I was little, buy property where you want to live and retire. One thing I found over the years, even in remote locations, whether they be the...

    What's in your arsenal??

Not that bad really. A full-sized PCC often feels a little calmer and less rough than an SBR or subgun style weapon. That holds true here. The recoil is slightly less than 5.56, and the brake design adorning the tip of the barrel takes some sting out.

I like the Aero EPC 9mm as well as the Aero AR-15 and AR-10, built by ex-Army armorers in Tacoma.

momma says daddy can buy a chain saw

I like Stihl for their larger saws. At work we generally had several 032s and O34s on rigs. I have several Stihls at home the 034, 038 & 041. For small gas at work we generally use the Echo 25 and the 50cc. At home we have several small McCullough chainsaws, and my wife wanted something...

    What's in your arsenal??

"Little Joe" Charfauros had a bounty on his head, he was a forward observer/sniper who only weighs a 110 lbs soaking wet still. BTW his pack weighed about 100 lbs, plus another 50 lbs of ammo. A lifer he made E9 Master Sergent inside of 12 years, he also participated in Grenada and Panama. One...

    What's in your arsenal??

Since the Broome Ranch behind Point Mugo NavAirSta is no longer the live fire training center for Seabees in Port Hueneme - and is now residential housing. They go through the live fire portion of crew-served weapons training at U.S. Garrison Fort Hunter Liggett. NMCB 5 my old Battalion going...

    What's in your arsenal??

Yes I've read all about him, and reviewed his bio last year. He didn't have a pleasant out in the end. BTW he used the standard sniper rifle in use then, a WInchester Model 70 heavy barrel 30-06 with a standard 8x Unertl scope, for his record shot, not the 50 Cal. His backup everyday carry...

    What's in your arsenal??

That's a AN/TVS-2B Starlight Night Vision Scope, which only worked at night and only runs on a handful of AA batteries for less then half an hour. Though the practice had been in use since the Korean War, Carlos Hathcock made the use of the M2 .50 caliber machine gun as a long-range sniper...

Those who do know shit about tools

My wife uses a floor sweeping compound often in two of the shops. She also uses a live enzyme for removing odors and stains made by Biokleen called BAC-OUT. Originally she just used on stubborn stains and odors or when a dog or cat has an accident in the house. Mostly she uses it on wood floors...

The worst thing about over indulging on St. Patty's day...

No spirits last night, not even my usual single to two adult beverages my doctor says would be best for me to keep my platelet count down and and my blood thin. My wife who has an adult beverage on average on one every five years or so, had a coffee nudge with an extra shot of Bailey's, not...

Working in the most dangerous of the trade unions - the Piledrivers, Bridgebuilders, Divers and Welders union, right up there alongside logging, 33 times more dangerous than the average job nationwide. The first thing in teaching newbs to the job, never assume anything - ever. The second is...

Munt, like I said, I'm skeptical and just going to bat for those who don't speak up. BTW - even the most primitive societies have seen things that make them go WTF, without having a clue what they're looking at - of course not in those words exactly. The survey, published in December 2017 and...

bob lazar and the ufo story

Like I said, I've been a skeptic for years, but have became somewhat less skeptical in recent years. Someone has to go to bat for the 65% who believe UFOs exist and that we've been visited by aliens. - because it should be noted that about 1/2 who believe, find it easier not to say anything on...

bob lazar and the ufo story

I would not be surprised to find out that earth is the petri dish of the galaxy for testing and monitoring the intermingling of species. To their horror, much like the Stanford experiment things got out of control and the experiment became a horrifying reality. Quite possibly somewhere there is...
