So I pulled the accumulator out and there's no discernable difference in performance. That gave me room to install a water filter and everything is working great. 

I would imagine there's plenty of compliance in the ~100'+ of fiber reinforced clear poly water tubing running around the boat.  I thought about running copper but only just for a second  ;)

My UP6/e freshwater pump is spec'd at 9A/12V (4.5/24) and routinely pulls 20A for a few seconds if I let the accumulator leak down. Built like a tank. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for with these.
