This thread drift brings us back to why I was so positive about the new rigs ( and yes I totally understand why so many ILCA sailor love the status quo. I am NOT restarting that discussion, I understand why things will NOT change ๐)
A modern rig totally changes heavy weather sailing.
As I...
I have to say I wouldnโt have taken either of them out if the base wind strength was 25kts +. ๐๐.
But I do totally understand there is a huge difference between the two for better sailors .
I must be being very slow as both these words have two meanings that have been general use for the best part of a century. Itโs only Rooting in connection with phones thatโs in any way new .
Has something gone completely over my head in this modern world ( not for the first time ) ๐๐๐
I think you could have some more โ interestingโ conversations with this ILCA, than you would have with the dinghy one thatโs based in Austin , Texas . ๐๐๐๐๐
Well thatโs good news for owners and new buyers of Picos, Bugs etc .
Doesnโt seem that long ago that LP were boasting that they were the worlds largest manufacturer of sailing dinghys in the world .
Two easy ways to tell.
1) Has it gone bust and restarted owned by another holding company owned by the same person ?
And
2) Can you get spare parts ? ๐๐๐
Itโs never fun to sail a classic laser , I should know I had one for 20 years . Itโs just cheap and does a job ok , nothing more . ๐๐ on the plus side you do get great class racing across most of the world ๐
Donโt let him rile you . He isnโt worth it. Just look at the positive voices on here ( obviously not mine ๐๐). Of which there are loads. Thatโs the real world and the real state of the class.
