In fairness, they seem to do most else right, and risk of mob given sea state and wind doesn't seem to be that elevated as all are in the cockpit, although recoverability would be reduced. I'd wear a pfd if I were there, but ragging on them too hard seems unfair. I'd guess that heaving line...
