Looks similar to the FarrX2 ay? No sign of anything remaining. Pretty concerning and hopefully isolated to 179 as its sister ship #168 is I believe out doing it’s qualifier - likely turned around and headed for shore… note, they were finished by different yards.

No news on the website since the start, no news on their Facebook page. No mention of the 'incident' anywhere... They're trying to hide the bad news or they're just going to let the race fade into insignificance? Strange, just really strange!

What a fuck up..! Great to see this race start though. That said, 6 boats left, how many realistically finish? Looking at the teams only one seems to have real experience. The Japanese on 101…

Alongside building a new IMOCA for the VG, Yoann Richomme is building a Class40 in the colours of Arkea Paprec for the Route du Rhum.  Lombard design. The French have too much money...

That's cool to hear - pleased to see the race getting traction. I think the 40s going rtw albeit with stop overs will be a game changer.

I cannot wait for this class in the Route du Rhum and then around the world!    Lalou Multi launched their Lombard design tonight. I appreciate the picture quality is pretty shit!

That's a good looking boat. I think four more launches to come in the next couple of weeks too!  A Pogo, a Lombard, a Raison and a Bertrand! Plus 11 more in build all to be launched before the RDR.

It's surely the best result in the fleet considering it was their first race in the boat too. That said Brian is Brian and Alister was part of Luna Rosa's AC team...

They do indeed although given the position of the spreader in the photo I'd presume she is running a more traditional 2 spreader rig.
