Just fyi, if you don't care to fuck with hydraulics. That pilot will equally happily drive a ray marine electro magnetic or whatever it is ram. When this kit was the latest gear the popular thing on open 60's etc was to use the b&g brain as it was "clever" and the ray marine ram as they were...
I actually thought it looked better than I expected, it did appear to be moving, it didn't fall over and there was some breeze. Not saying it's a good boat, but is anyone prepared to admit it may have done a bit better than some of the more dire predictions?
Thanks Dave, I will remove the old sleeve and gently tap the new bracket down the taper, hopefully into place, if it gets tight and feels like something will break I will very carefully open up the bracket with sandpaper or similar.
FYI this is the bracket you handed to me on Sunday.

This doesn't show it too well, but I am left with a "re enforcement patch" Imagine a square of carbon wrapped onto the spar under where the old bracket was. Do I need to get this off ? I am thinking yes as the tolerance of the new bracket seems to suggest that, but I didn't remove it yet in case...
I have just read a whole bunch of this thread an the guide, maybe I missed it, did anyone ever do a guide for replacing the spreader bracket on the mast ?
Thanks
Does anyone know if there is a better alternative to this rusty pos, maybe in stainless or similar ??
Also, it is supported by a plank across the cockpit seats which is going rotten, probably due to rainwater. Any suggestions for a suitable material to replace it with ? Teak ? Sit it up on some...

I remember walking out of a Caribbean chandlery with the bosses credit card one time. I went to buy a few spares, maintenance items, bits and bobs. Walked out having spent $13k and thinking how much of a small part of the whole show it was.
Covered up in the driveway! I don't have much interest in it when it's above 90f, the air is full of bugs and the water full drunk rednecks in power boats ! Ready for fall though, thanks
Wow, that story is unbelievable, surely having a passport in your hand that is in date and not fake is surely verification in itself, I wonder if that happens in any other country, definitely not in UK.
I have two legal questions today.
1. I just returned into the USA through an airport, i am a naturalized citizen, have a US passport. I have entered the country as a non citizen and as a citizen. It seems to be a widely held belief that US passport control people are dicks. I handed the officer...
