Ha, the value of the dollar is at a high. A few times today it was worth more than the euro, I don't think that has ever happened before. I'll take the dollar any day of the week for some worthless Crypo and even more worthless NFT, but some good quality beer works as currency for me.
Why would anyone accept payment in worthless Crypto? Everyday it is worth less than the day before it. Etherium has plummeted from $4400 to $1000 and heading lower. Bitcoin a similar decline. Pay me in dollars!
I've used Rick Lenschow in the past was happy with his survey. On my last boat I used Stateline Marine Surveyors (James Seith), I don't feel he is the right guy when it comes to sailboats. Lots of things missed in his report, at least I knew the issues prior. Boat was left open, and shore...
First if this isn't allowed please remove. There isn't a 115 owners group anywhere that I know of on SA so I started one on FB. It is under "C&C 115 Owners". If you own a 115 please join.
I've been researching this for my 115. My loft preferred that I go with a factory retrofit retractable sprit however that is looking cost prohibitive. So I am now waiting for Trogear to let me know what the longest they can custom make an Atlas sprit from my boat. The stock length will put me...
What did you end up installing on your 115? I bought a C&C 115 this past winter and I would like to add a sprit so I can fly a code 0, but I'm up in the air as what to buy. I'm leaning toward the Trogear.
I called Tartan to get the answer to this, and it is indeed foam filled. I have never heard of a hollow rudder before so I don't know why the manual states it is hollow.
As a small plug for Tartan. So far they have been outstanding in regards to answering any question or concern I've had...
I had a Kiwi prop on my last boat and loved it. Light, durable and most of all, it worked great. If I had to replace the prop on my new boat, it would be the first prop I would look at.
Thanks, I know that a typical rudder is foam cored, but the C&C manual specifically says "no foam, hollow". I find this odd, and I can certainly drill into it and find out easily enough, but I'd rather not repair the hole if it is indeed hollow.
After reading the owners manual of my C&C 115 it states that the rudder is hollow. Is this really the case.? Doing percussion testing it sounds as if the rudder is delaminated, however if it is hollow, then it would sound that way. Can anyone comment on the actual construction of the 115...
I'm upgrading the stereo in my boat and have a few questions regarding integration of the XM Weather antenna.
Current set up:
(2) Zeus 2 12" chartplotters
Go-Free wifi
Full Simnet set up (Ethernet)
XM Weather WM-3
New: Fusion Apollo 770
I would like to have the ability to control the...
When I pushed the agent to make sure of that, she did correct herself, Chubb would cover racing. However they would only insure the boat for the purchase price. If I did $50k in a refit and had it resurveyed they would not insure for the survey value only the purchase price. I pushed back on...
I agree completely.
I'm going with SkiSafe. There are no exclusions that were important to me, consequential damages are covered, they will value the vessel at surveyed value not purchase price, and their depreciation rate is reasonable. I was really shocked at what some of these company...
Can anyone recommend a very high quality canvas shop in Chicago. I have a list of things I want made, most easy, but I also want a dodger made. The one shop I contacted makes old school looking dodgers, with the second bow connecting at the base, and the fit not tight and wrinkle free. I...
I've been finding that a lot don't even mention that as an option and when I ask about it, they say consequential damages are not covered. This thread has been a real eye opener for me. So far the most expensive quote has been the worse coverage, one of the cheapest has been the best...
With Ski Safe, I had the option to add consequential losses. It added $40 to the premium. I then called them and asked if the rigging failed and demasted the boat, would it be covered and was a there any stipulations as to when the rigging must be replaced or inspected. Yes it would be...
