Soooooo…complete shitshow. Apparently the old venue at Charleston Harbor Resort couldn’t come to terms with the OA on liquor sales so they moved the venue over to the nearest aircraft carrier. The ‘party’ consisted of some salami and a 30 minute wait for some half-pour drinks. This regatta used...
Again, that’s fair. I just want to know who fucked with our boat. If I knew the guy I probably wouldn’t out him to some rando. Your point is well taken.
That’s fair. I’m not prepared to share who I think he is because I may be wrong, in which case I’ve put myself in legal jeopardy, and I’m not prepared to out myself because I’m just not. We’ll find the guy through other means and I’ll report back when the process plays out.
I think I’ve been sufficiently detailed without providing so much information that my own identity is compromised. You can easily do a little homework and figure out who I am, I’m not going to spoon feed any more.
Does anyone know the guy or not?
Yes, and that is where I located a suspect. As...
Yes, and I have a name in mind but I’m not sure enough to make a formal allegation. But we are 100% certain that the person in the picture is one of the guilty parties, hence the reason I’m willing to go public with this.
We have a suspicion as to who it is but are not confident enough to make an outright allegation of his identity until someone else can confirm it. As I said, they boarded the boat and spent six minutes aboard in the dark with a flashlight doing something. When we returned to the boat, the...
Tampered as in the tampering could have caused serious injury. They unspun lifelines and shackles. This was not a harmless prank, it was a premeditated act of revenge that put our crew in danger for something that occurred on the water.
He and another individual boarded our boat during the regatta party and tampered with our equipment. We have video of the incident but we are as yet unable to identify him.
If you're in SF Bay, I really like Saildrone. It's paid but it's pretty cheap and the interface is much better than sailflow or some of the others I've tried. Cool company story, too.
Sailtactics.com was amazing and I think saildrone bought them, at least judging by their URL forwarding...
I've been made to understand that southern spars manufactures the masts, but the class association still maintains the IP so it must be ordered through either the class or through melges, hence the $15 large price tag
