Even if he can't participate (don't they have proxies?), he occupies a seat that would probably go Dem if he was kicked out. GOP ain't giving that up unless they have to.- bridhb

Yeah, but from what I can gather, the GOP is afraid that if they kick him out, the district will go Dem in a special election after all the poo associated with their guy, so they will probably keep him for his term, no matter what the heck he is convicted of.- bridhb

Are you sure? I need to do some googling. What I think I heard was that him being in jail, didn't really matter...he would still be an elected congress "member" unless they voted to kick him out with 2/3rds.- bridhb

Most likely none. Each side seems to be voting in lockstep and Republicans have a majority even without the most awesome new member of congress. Also, according to fake news, and what I should have learned in 8th grade civics, the House would have to vote 2/3rds to kick him out, no matter what.- bridhb
