US debt is REQUIRED - or there is no money. That's how fiat currency works. You can certainly flood the market with too much cash, and create inflation, but we NEED that debt. Funny thing is inflation isn't caused by the cash, it's caused by the spend. That's why the market went up in early...
That's the current thought, Qevin thinks he can get a majority of Rs if the Dems will step up. He will likely fight off being deposed after that. Oh well.
Good old Teddy Cruz was on the Sunday show, saying there’s plenty of cash to pay the interest on the debt.
2 things wrong with that. 1) maybe yes, it just would mean no SS checks, etc would go out but
2) completely wrong, as only Teddy Cruz and the RWNJ talking points can be. The debt ceiling...

Yeah, that's not how it works. IF that was true, the US would have to pay more in interest than the other reserves. And that's not the case.
But if I was sovereign fund manager with billions of assets, yeah, given the shitshow that has been American politics for 4 years, and now likely 2 more...
Not really. Why does China own so many $s? Cause we keep sending them their way. They need to do something with all the $s they receive. They can buy US goods (but as good mercantilists, they do not), they can use it to buy commodities, which they do, they can use it to buy property in the US...
