(I'm a baptized catholic, confirmed methodist, wandered in the wilderness Joseph Campbell-style kinda guy - who realized none of that makes any sense. Call me a humanist if you must put a label on me.)
BTW, I truly do feel that my kids (older now) are safer in a drag show than in a church. I've taken them to drag shows and the Castro street fair, but never, by choice, a church. Weddings are about it. But that's a personal opinion as to what I think the real dangers of life are.

Well, the dark ages were marked by the restriction of science and the restriction of literacy to the church, so, them were the real dark ages. Nowadays it’s mostly a backlash against science by the church, so let’s say it’s more like some want to hit the dimmer switch.
