TR- thanks for the standings and blurbs about our experience, fun stuff. Congratulations to the podium winners, you showed commitment, dedication, and earned your results. I was fortunate to get a large early lead, and unfortunate to sail into a giant parking lot that expanded in my path for an...
yep this early lead is getting smaller by the minute. never has a 300 mile lead felt so worthless. this fleet compression has been in the cards for the past week or more, but kept getting pushed further east. now its inevitable. let the restart begin!
looking good right now, however by the time we get south of new zealand early predictions seem to indicate the peloton will catch this north-east group im in and we will be even again.
while the ice limit is a factor, currently from my position the routing does not go all the way to the boundary. although, many will play right along the edge to sail the shortest distance.
edit: now my routing does go all the way to the limit. yay!
While zezo is down, try vrzen.org. It’s only in French and takes a little getting used to but is a second router I regularly use to compare routes. You will have to manually enter coordinates but is a good option, much better than the in game router.
yes. the U/I (user interface, or game screen) data is not accurate. the only accurate information is on the server, and you can only see this information by using the dashboard google chrome extension.
for example, lets say the wind speed is 18.1 on the U/I and the sail change occurs on the...
this is something that still scares me as well but i believe the key is to notice when the sail change warning shows a hit to the stamina. if the sail change warning shows up but no stamina hit shows within the warning you "should" be ok within the 1.4%. if the sail change warning shows up with...
nice race everyone! thanks for the recognition. its nice having a third competition within the game (overall, team, and SA). i was pleased with my performance but disappointed with one sail change mistake that cost me a shot at the top 100 overall, which is my goal for every race. see y'all in a...
lol, well do you see that im getting passed by the south boats? this was expected...will probably fall in behind your mom, prettyhatemachine and gybe turkey
yes you did the dreaded double sail change. CO to HG then to LG. this is a compounding speed killer. every maneuver is slower compared to the competition that avoided this double change (until you can recover to 100 stamina or at least equal stamina of your closest competition). knowing the...
you were two degrees off CO in boost mode and into the HG. the limit was 136twa you were at 138 which forced the HG. as your mom mentioned in an earlier post there is a 1.4% transition allowance between sails at certain wind strengths. you weren't the only one in our pack that this happened to.
I sail on a turboed 1D in the detroit area. the masthead conversion is a carbon fiber reinforcement sleeve epoxied on, and the sheave is part of this. the masthead (not quite to the masthead, more like 7/8 to the top) halyard is only for the turboed assym. our a2 and a3 are still on the existing...
cool pic, i wondered what those islands looked like but never took the time to research. yesterday i thought i would cross infront of you, but you had the better angle. there are a couple of my teammates from IT-Ech (Miceri, PimpI)a couple hours ahead and Diouck56 right next to me. there looks...
Same thing happened to me at the start of the last Volvo Ocean Race a couple years ago. They eventually sent me the reset password email a week later, be patient. VR is notorious for their customer support.
@Tunnel RatThanks for the write ups and standings. IMO the Nord stream race series has been the best racetrack to play on…the islands and unstable winds really made it fun
