Great article and glad to see this beauty back on the water . . . gloss perfect hull, thoughtfully revamped and modded for slaying the competition. While the reference "Texas junkyard" might be a little out of context, the Lake Canyon Yacht Club, was home to NellyBelle for a few decades...
@ couch . . . . hint - the trailer is getting a new axle and heading out west, where it all began. There, a make over is understood to occur. Look forward to seeing the transformation.
@ bill - sorry, dude . . . didn't mean to get off track. Just a little SC history along the way - interesting...
Yes, it is still sitting there. I spoke with the owner not too long ago and he said he was not interested in selling. However, I will give him a ring and touch base next week when I return from biz trip. I don't have Alan's #, but if you will PM me I will reach out to him next week sometime.
So, any of you MORC boat owners/teams going to be competing in Key West?
Last year was fun, but we need some real competition from the field. JUST SAYIN' . . . .
I agree SB. Too damn quiet . . . ..
REGISTERED and Heading to Key West again . . . . You Bad Girl challenges all comers to a MORC throw down!!! Bring it on, TITS and ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
With mortgages being as low as they are right now, you may have some avenues to pursue. The challenge is going to be finding the avenue(s) and an underwriter willing to take the risk. Plus, you will most likely need to buy at an incredibly favorable market to loan value. With banks as tight as...
If you are a registered user on the http://morc.us website you can go to the news page and post her for sale there. We do not yet have a classified/ads section. As a favor, if you know of any other SIYC or area folks that have MORC compatible boats, please share the resource with them. I'd...
I liked the place . . . my second visit there . . . quaint and casual, and the people at SIYC seem to be quite nice. I liked seeing the multiple OD classes. And a healthy youth program as well - always a plus for the community. For a Texan, the weather was awesome. Would not have minded the...
Sailed thru and moored at SIYC this past Thurs/Friday. Saw your boat on the line. Looked nice sitting there. I took a few pics, as she is a standout amongst most of her mooring mates. Wish you luck in selling her. BTW, happy 125th to SIYC. Looked like they are ready for the party this week.
Still looking for MORC competitors who have interest in a class start at KWRW 2012. Comments from the gallery and other remotely interested parties . . . .SPEAK UP.
Video posted by one of our crew of the light show that preceded the squall. It was a wicked ride. Condolences to families and friends of Mark Morley and Suzanne Bickel.
No doubt, the smell of ozone was prolific!! I will post a video of a portion of the light show captured by one of our crew. It's good but not reflective of the peak show when it was consistently "white" in the night.
KWRW 2012 should be a blast. Would be good to have a fleet of MORC boats on the line. We are going to go ahead and put CRW 2012 on the calendar for 2012 as well. That may be the extent of how far east and north we will be able to get. I will begin making calls to see if we can get our own...
