Have a 105, cruise it with 3/4, offshore and coastal race it with 2-6. (2 saloon bunks, 2 quarter berths + Forepeak cushions. What made a big difference for camping is replacement of cooker with oven, spray hood (so hatch can stay open in rain etc), folding table and purchase of a big cool box...
Jambalaya thanks for the pictures etc. We dont seem to have a problem with water ingress luckily.
Just back from JOG Cherbourg Double Header with some great close racing with a JPK1010
I think a staysail will fill this gap nicely.
Thanks all,
Historically have used Spinnaker Staysails on bigger boats hence the question. Boat is no longer one design as we race inshore and offshore under IRC our main competition are J109s, JPK 1010s and Sunfast 3300s specifically for the Fastnet. We have a choice of Masthead and Fractional...
Anyone on the forum experimented with Spinnaker Staysail on an IRC rated J105?
If so anyone have pictures of foredeck padeye and Tie rod to fore peak bulkhead ?
When not racing, we cruise Jacana. Anchoring with Danforth anchor not good, now moved to Bruce anchor and life is good. Biggest challenge is not having a bow roller. So rather than feed the anchor under the pulpit we now feed over front of pulpit then secure anchor warp with sail tie.
Wet
Fitting shown replaced original end fitting. We race under IRC; as such my question is if any one has experimented with reducing Spinnaker Pole length measurement and its impact on IRC rating.
Thanks we have a code zero, which weve hardly used so far so hopefully offshore we can take more advantage of it. Catch up beer or bike always sounds good
Point of order accepted, its been great racing against you and Ive added JPK to my Christmas list ;-). We are also looking to pick up some light sails, as you say that means it will blow old boots ;-)
We went for a J105 (Jacana) early 2020 and have no regrets and are looking forward to racing offshore next season. As the last two seasons have been light or crew numbers restricted we have sailed 4 -7 up. 9 knots and above is great to race anything below 9 knots can be frustrating especially...
