Ha. Thanks. We actually have an awesome lake with 9 good months of wind and sailing. Just a 2 and 4 year old don’t mix right now. They are 5 handfuls. We’ve spent all summer wake surfing so they are growing up on the water at least. We will be back to sailing when they get older. :) Enjoyed...
UFO and trailer for sale. $6900
Located in Waco, TX. Used approximately 30 times. Always garage kept. Works great, just with 2 and 4 year old daughters we know the next several years we won’t get to play with it much. Green pads and sails
Comes with large and small sails, full cover and foil...
And working a broken batten out sucks. Get a drink and wiggle wiggle wiggle. Getting stuff on the sides didn’t work for me. Be grateful it’s a short batten. I broke the end of my like 7’ Johnson 18 full batten off and it took me i think 3 hours total to get it out.
Where the top and bottom of the hull meet. Just where the main deck comes in perpendicularly. I can email you a pic if you want. We emailed ours to Nick and he confirmed that was probably where it was leaking. Will know when we get it back on the water. It flowed from there we think when we...
Worked on our boat tonight. Thoughts
1. The small sail does not seem smaller. My ego got carried away and didn’t want a small sail. It seems fine. It will probably make me suck slightly less. I like the orange. It was WAY easier to hoist and something is better about the new bolt rope size...
Cool!
I think it'd be better to take down the old "New UFO Owners tips" so we just have one place. I made that other one and I'm sure anything is better. Is there a way it can be editable? If you want me to delete the old one, just let me know when you've harvested anything useful.
You may be a far better sailor than me but I haven’t found foiling to be “easy.”
The UFO is a great boat and I’m confident it’s the easiest foiling to be had, but I’d recommend going in knowing it will be hard like all new things are hard and a good scoop of patience will be very very...
So the current tuning thought is 80-90kg in heavy wind (16 on the loos PT1) and 40kg in lighter stuff (5 on the PT-1, which ours doesn't read 5 so we will got to 8 when it starts to read then back down a little)?
Also, not if people are still using the google doc, but I added the tensions to...
There’s some quick and dirty pictures. Don’t know the make or model of the trailer. Also we wouldn’t tow it with the stuff underneath it’s just there for now and it’s not really tied down.
Awesome. I can’t figure out how to search these on a phone but I’ll dig my computer out and look.
Also, if anyone cares, we converted a RIB/jet ski trailer to hold our UFO. Just took the bunks off, mounted 4x4s horizontally, then screwed the bunks on the end. Took about 45 minute total...
Cool stuff. Hearing you guys talk about tension, we have loose gauges. Will they work or do I need to spend the $ on a spinlock?
Also anyone storing their boat mast and boom up or everyone taking it apart?
Now that’s the idea I’m looking for.
And I sure don’t thing/I hope nobody thought you meant holding on thousands of dollars of foils with package tape friction...
What am I supposed to do with my bucket of lard then? JK.
And seriously though, I know the rudder and foil need the big washer but still wish there was a way to hold the foil on the strut for install. Oh well.
