    New Beneteau First 36

Has anyone had delivery lately or know what hull numbers they have completed? Regarding Garmin: They have the best after sales technical support I’ve experienced. Apart from an AP ram (Jefa produced, Garmin branded) no issues with our system. Cheers

That is something of a tease - please tell us more - how did she feel on the helm?

It is a great article - We were also in the Baltic yesterday and agree with all that Lars has said (thanks for including us in the saloon shot!) - the weather was truly foul! The boat really has the 'wow' factor from the dockside and I think will age well. It looks and feels more like 40ft...

Off to Lubeck to have a sail on the 36 on Thursday - forecast is 17 kts gusting 30 so it could be lively!

A great combination of performance, looks and comfort - I'd suspect it will be a roaring sales success. (I'm a bit of a fanboy as my co-skipper's 36 arrives in June)

We ran Garmin on our Bene First 40 - very, very impressed with superb UK service and support. Despite having legacy kit mixed with new stuff the tech guys were incredibly helpful and response times were rapid. I suspect that the hydraulic drive may be overkill. Our linear drive stood up to last...

FFS - Flights and hotel booked specifically to go and view the 36. That is something of a pain in the arse.

I’m sure there are better forums for detailed discussions of EU and Commercial Law than this one. All of this will come down to performance on the water / handicap. Seascape and Beneteau have reputations to protect so lets presume that this is their strongest card for the competitive double...

It certainly hits the spot for me. Looks pretty light weight considering the interior fit out - I guess that’s down to manufacturing improvements since the First 36.7?

So, Bene’s numbers are - 4,800 kg and SA/D upwind 29, downwind 65. No trial IRC Cert available as yet. Optimised for double handed.  Not too shabby for a dual purpose boat?

A gloriously, gloriously cunty reply - I sail an F40 double handed - love the big BOI telling us that Bene sailers can’t navigate! We aren’t winners but we love sailing. Sailing partner and I looking into an F36 but I now bow to your incomparable knowledge - such a near escape!!

A very interesting thread - thank you. I used to own a 762 and loved it.
