    Vendee Globe 2020

I don't recall seeing the center line mainsheet bridle in previous editions. On multiple boats, when they are running, you can see a mainsheet on a bridle, with the regular mainsheet on the traveller slack. Is this a newer development to save wear and tear on the traveler, or did I just miss it...

Looks more like a gybe to stay in better pressure over the next 48 hours.

    Vendee Globe 2016?

My guess is they are both on port, but Alex in a W breeze while Armel is lifted in a light S breeze. And the transition hasn't happened yet! But great "luck" to claw back 600 miles to make this a race again.

Any suggestions on how to control an unfurled sail on deck? Or how to unfurl and refurl a sail down below single handed? No easy options.

    Vendee Globe 2016?

Think of it this way, 130 mile delta after a month of racing is 1% difference in performance. That's tighter than plenty of 'round the buoy races, and just as tight as the marathon results at the Rio olympics. The America's Cup races in SF average 2-3% deltas. Even 1st to 3rd is only 8%. Yes...

    Vendee Globe 2016?

Right, but what you really want is an asymmetric polar. If you have two files, you are routing either with foils or without. Ideally you would want to route with the foil on starboard tack, and without on port. It may be advantageous to extend further on the fast starboard tack, or sail a...

Shaw 7 and similar Jib Sheeting

I found the specs for the Shaw 7 here: http://www.shawyachtdesign.com/Sportsboats/Shaw-7/ The jib is 11 m2, so a good bit bigger than the 6.5 jib, and probably not something you want to hand with 2:1 and no fine tune. Seems pretty clear no one on this boat is using a winch!

Shaw 7 and similar Jib Sheeting

Question for folks familiar with the Shaw 7 or similar sized sportboats. What is the size of the Jib? I'm assuming there are no winches, how is the Jib sheet rigged?

Nic, great job being on the water at both ends and showing us what new broadcast tech can do. Perhaps something like Patreon https://www.patreon.com/would work for you, I'm sure with the excitement of the finish last night you could have had the some hits during your broadcast.

    2015 Sydney to Hobart

There is a ghost tracker for Wild Oats 2012 Race. Wild Oats is next to Rags. Rambler an easy second. Comanche seems to have missed the last update.

Ed's Shaw 650 Booted from High Sierra Regatta - From the Front Pag

Yes, let's bitch about the decline in racing and then bask in schadenfreude when an event gets cancelled. Less sailing and droughts are bad for everyone regardless of personal spats.
