    Have you looked at StewMac for the tool?  The Truss rod on my brand-new Fender dimension bass didn't have enough travel to get the neck relief correct - hadda take the neck off, put a couple washers under the nut, and clamp the neck to a table to induce a reverse bend, then tighten the truss rod...

    I understand the appeal of old instruments, but, gaawdalmighty - I pay good $$ for my guitars, take care of 'em, and generally avoid letting them get beaten up.  I have one of my Dad's Martins - it's about 25 yrs old now, and he had poor eyesight and banged in to things sometimes while he played...

    ND, Bob and Kim - y'all have given us a lot of insight into something that many of us wouldn't have otherwise been able to enjoy. My boatbuilding experience included bandsaws, lead paint, and damn few drawings. Thanks for letting the peanut gallery vicariously enjoy what y'all have done.
