The lack of build options in the protocol encourage the use of a sim. AFAIK you can only build one set of full sized foils (75), one hull etc. Their sim is top notch, why wouldn't they leverage that advantage?
Sounds like its a tool to develop their design simulator and AI tech - knowing how successful ETNZ have been with this approach. Mature IP (software) is essential in today's cup. I think ETNZ sell a scaled down version of their simulator with their design package?
Although early days, they look to be way more robust than the F50s, which when they go over, usually involves extensive damage to the fragile wing.
The AC40 would make a great GP boat. Likely half the number of shipping containers, and a much quicker assembly time, so thus far cheaper running...
Wussels waffle -
Plays down the Kiwis winning because Langers and BA were absent. Says the French were too busy playing the man.
Not sure, but as Wuss said, originally the Kiwis were doing everything differently to the other teams - I assume he means the setup - and that none of that worked. They changed that and have been getting some results.
