    Trading?

Right, I see what you are getting at... I haven't really watched any of their vids so I don't know how much "stuff" they are lugging around but you would presume they would bring everything over with them... That said, the 4X is also a fairly "light displacement" boat (compared to condo cats)...

Spot the 2 deliberate (?) mistakes

Actually if you look closely the sheet is loaded properly and cleated all the way past the turning block, it just "looks" like it's backwards because it goes right past the turning block... Not sure why he would have his right hand on the part of the sheet between the winch and turning block...

    Trading?

Pretty sure it will attract more clicks, which is the only performance metric that actually matters! Regardless of construction, bridgedeck cats just have more windage which is why they get their best VMG footing off more than a tri. Also the tris have different hull shapes on the main hull and...

    Corsair/Farrier Anarchy

That's definitely a 242 (with a couple tweaks as notes above). Looks like a good deal (if there's nothing significantly wrong with it)

    Corsair/Farrier Anarchy

Yes, the sprint 750 has a mark1 and a mark2 as well. I think the mark2 has redesigned wider amas (and same large cockpit deck) I think from splitting the mold and adding material "in the middle" and if I remember correctly the "Dash" is a larger cabin version of the mark2 750 (i.e. with wider...

I don't think the cockpit is too different between the two but it's definitely a MK2...

    Corsair/Farrier Anarchy

Pretty sure you got the upper and lower struts confused... Upper strut is the one only needed for folding, the lower one is taking all the upwards load during sailing.

    R2AK 2022

They are going upwind in fairly light stuff with 3 or 4 on board. Not sure what the 760 would rate but they looked heavily loaded and the sprint is just an F24 with a bit more sail area so not a rocket either... If it's a bit choppy on top of that it's to be expected that at a ~35 mono will...

    R2AK 2022

Obviously it is, like most things in life. My point was that it's not enough and a race like this leaves a lot of uncertainty even for well funded and prepared efforts (ask @40Plus )... And this leaves room for what you would expect to be "mid packers" to end up at/near the top!

    R2AK 2022

Are these really faster than an F31R? I can see that in rough conditioms but what about in less than 5kt? One common issue with multies in this race as well seems to be overloading. Going solo is a bit extreme but I do feel like I've demonstrated just how much of a difference it can make in a...

    R2AK 2022

Definitely the most "lumber" I've ever seen. I hit at least 5 "significant" ones (>6" in diameter and >10 ft long anything isn't worth mentioning) including the one that I believe caused the damage. It was about 2 to 3 ft in diameter and at least 20ft long. Bow went up a wave and came down on...

    Aside from being butt ugly...

These guys have a pretty good discussion on the 47 with some footage under sail as well if you haven't watched it yet:

    Aside from being butt ugly...

Yeah, I don't really "get" the 43's layout but the 47 seems perfect for a couple, with some nice separate accommodations for guests (even if the ama cabins are a bit smaller than on the typical cat the privacy would be nice). Being able to just look up from your bunk and check your...

    Pedal power???

Hoping to test my "2.0" pedal system soon! It's a good way to keep warm! I solved some torsional rigidity issues I was experiencing so now I just need to finish putting it back together and give it a spin...

    Aft aka airfoils on Sodebo

Pretty sure the main function is just to reduce drag on the aft face of rear beam. it doesn't looks like they are shaped to generate any lift one way or the other. They would be a "liability" when stuffing the bows going downwind for sure...

Multihulls - What's your Favorite Flavor?

Differing opinions are great, it reeeeallly doesn't do it for me though, I would say I find it hideous! All the sharp bits sticking out and "stepped" lines really don't work for me! I find the GB68 to be the best looking big cat out there (no flybridge though but the 72 still looks good...
