The fun part is that they are baiting the bullshitters So well. After today’s hearing, the guy Trump tried to grab claimed that it didn’t happen. Of course, he wasn’t sworn today. The committee already had his testimony, which agreed with Hutchinson’s version. He had walked right into their trap. The Bullshit Machine is trying to focus on little stuff to distract from the coup. As always.
Disputing Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony before the January 6th committee, Donald J. Trump claimed that ketchup would never have wound up dripping down the Oval Office wall if Rudy Giuliani had not ducked.
“Lyin’ Cassidy said that I threw my lunch at the wall,” Trump wrote on his social network, Truth Social. “I actually threw it at Rudy Giuliani, and he ducked.”
“It was a perfect throw,” he boasted.
Trump said that, had the former New York mayor not ducked, “ketchup would have been dripping down Rudy’s head like his hair die [sic] does.”
Trump expressed some surprise that Giuliani was able to evade the flying lunch. “When you consider how bombed he was, the guy had incredible reflexes,” the former President observed.

I would have the same concern for any POTUS but Trump. President Zelensky would have been hobbled and Ukraine would have fallen on day two if his secret service had whisked him to a safe bunker far from the capital. Personal leadership can change the course of history. The agents were in a tough spot. Follow orders from the Commander in Chief and use agency resources to help Trump seize power, or refuse the POTUS and follow the plan approved by their supervisor. Their choice likely preserved the union for a few more years. Whether it was a deliberate choice, or a desire not to work late and need to visit the hookers may never be known.

I was very, very surprised to when I was talking to some of my dad's friends in Charlottesville last time I had lunch with them. Riggleman was from their district.
These guys are pretty liberal, Trump-hating guys who do their best actually do their lives by actual Christian teachings. They're a sort of group of disaffected liberal Catholics like my dad who aren't willing to walk from the church they grew up in, but still believe a lot of the core teachingsand try to live by them. I like these guys, and respect them.
Anyway, what surprised me is that they really liked Riggleman. They'd met him, talked to him at some length at a craft distillery he owns and found him to be sensible and level headed, and genuinely concerned about the way things were headed.
Riggleman had a weird race, and he had some white supremacists that glommed onto him that made me very uncomfortable. And there was the "Bigfoot Porn" thing, which apparently was more of a joke than anything else. Apparently he disavowed the white supremacists once he was informed who they were.
It was a surprising take on a guy I'd discounted for a hard right loon.

but when we got home I watched every bit of it over a glass or two of grouse.
