To inform people about what happened on January 6 and who was responsible for it, which they did. They will release supporting documentation and if there is anything that they found which doesn’t support their conclusions, they will release that too.

No....They knew they had no legal case against their target, so they decided to try him in the court of public opinion. They went with an entirely new and unprecedented archetype. A professionally produced, taxpayer funded, edited and scripted, one-sided, made for TV, faux "hearing". They could have saved us the bullshit gone straight to this release.

It will be interesting to see if either the DoJ or Smith applies the Seditious Conspiracy charge to any of the other various facets of the J6 investigations. Many of them happened gradually, as attempted election fuckery and as efforts to impede Congress in the leadup to the actual attack day that Elmer's trial focused on.

Golly, it’s as if you missed all the threads you’ve taken part in which we remind you that the Committee was not a trial.
Trump was duly invited to refute the testimony by his Attorney General, his family, his administration and many others who took part in or observed what has now properly labeled a criminal conspiracy to attack the Capitol to alter an election.
But, like many of his ilk, he refused to honor a congressional subpoena, and so we do not yet have the benefit of his testimony, nor that of many now under suspicion of organizing the criminal conspiracy.
But your tears of shame and rage are tasty, as you complain how effective the hearings have been at educating the nation and the world in order to prevent a similar attack in the future.
Which was, after all, the mandate for the committee: study Jan 6 in order to prevent it from happening again.

Wolf produced and did some arrangement, Bernie and Martin Page wrote the lyrics and the basic melody. If you’re thinking of Peter Wolf of J. Geils fame (and some very good recent work), this is a different Peter Wolf who also worked with Zappa around ‘80 or so. He produced some notable songs in the ‘80s including TSTSNBN.
