10 Years

So one of my sons decided to follow the old man into the fire service. Although he spent a number of years in a wildland fire agency he was finally hired by a large county fire department. That was 10 years ago. This past couple days his fire academy video came up on my media. His fire department makes a short video (about 10 minutes) for each academy (about 3 per year). I enjoyed it again and thought…..what the heck, I’ll share it”. It made me smile.

Wow! Still using Scott packs and old style turn out gear? (I hated those pants so much I wouldn't wear them if I was running the pump or driving)

As luck would have it, I'm actually wearing one of my old FD t-shirts today. It features our "Engine 1" which was a 1968 Maxim pumper REO. It was just retired last year and replaced with a 2012 vintage pumper bought from the Winooski, VT. FD second hand. It's yellow.... There's some discussion in town about that.
