Even without a weather forecast can anyone bet it will be any different than this?
My predictions for the media coverage for the 2012 Sydney to Hobart:
Wild Oats pre-race favorite
Wild Oats first out of the Heads
Blah blah
thetruth said:With you on this one. Mark Richards is another AUS legend who has achieved SO much.................a decent current V70 would beat them with a good crew. And it just may happen.

And Hammo Island race week. And Rob Mundle will write an article (if he hasn't done so already) about a race record attempt by WOXI..........................
i don't agree with that - they don't get a choice. the they thnk that getting out on a ocean is an eletist thing they they can never achieve, & have no idea how much fun we are having.Brilliant, couldn't agree more!!
The media coverage really is a slap in the face to the other 99% of crews who battle it out each year to get down to Hobart!
I guess the average Aussie just wants to see the big "fast" boats!

Well done Mez. I'll be a tough gig to beat what you rolled out last year for us. Very memorable.Hey guys,
Looking at heading down to Hobart again (I live in Tassie anyway) and doing some reporting again.
Last year was fairly last minute, well actually I had no idea I was going to do it but after the success of the thread I'm going down a bit more organised.
Was going to try to get a dinghy but I think it will be better from the shore and I will have a laptop with internet and my own binos this time!!
Unfortunately the chances of another finish like that are fairly slim but I'll be there anyway.
