Law Connect going better after some changes including Bow Spirit and some new sails , bigger slots and more sail area etc. They also believe they are the fastest boat upwind 15-22 Knots. A nice You Tube Vid from Bow Caddy here too..

Watching the Solas Big Boat Challenge and Andoo Comanche is smoking the fleet with Law Connect doing well too. Wild Oats in 4th position she seems to have slowed down or perhaps had issues with Black Jack overtaking her. Protest flat onboard BJ so lets see what happens?

"Appears Oats had no reaching sail for most of the race"

I like the concept of Maxi championship but feel they should include S2H and perhaps a few longer races to add to the cabbage island and short course.

Just after the 1 hour 7 min mark (Solas Big Boat Challenge) watch Comanches run to the finish. She just lights up at 27 knots. Watching her race against Law Connect was interesting. Comanche is able to heal over way earlier than LC and release the drag whereas it seems Law Connect needs more breeze to get any heal. I think it also showed today that Law Connect is faster upwind than the RP100's in anything above 14-15 knots.

Seems the surgery has made Oats slower, quite sure that's not the case it's a matter of others having bigger gains with their nip and tucks.

Probably been asked and answered before, but why doesn't Law Connect have a boom vang?
They generally sail fairly hot angles downwind - no longer any loose luffed foresails on the boat AFAIK, and the giant square headed mains need a lot of twist, plus a big wide main traveller down the back takes care of things well enough I'd imagine.

I reckon LawConnect would really benefit from Comanche-style daggerboards angled the other way - they provide lift as will as side force on Comanche. IIRC LC is a fair bit heavier than Comanche too.

Maybe Dick..... LC assy boards still create a lot of lift....
That port and Starboard infringement by Herman at 9mins is amateur ish in this league of sailing..... who needs a jury when you have GoPros
