The right decision. Knowing the internet, if he names them someone will think it’s a good idea to put shit through their letterbox or email them death threats.
Unfortunately some other poor sucker will get screwed. Even Leo got screwed out of a deposit. Had his money been returned with an apology I might have a different opinion.

does the condensation within a diesel tank originate from the trapped air within the tank? (my assumption is that there is no water in diesel - but this is just a guess).
Reasons you may have water in your diesel:
1) Diesel may come from the fuel dock with water in it already.
2)The water may condense from atmospheric air. (Some say this almost never happens)
3)The water may flow in through bad o-rings on the fill deckplate.
4) Water may make its way in through the overboard tank vent (or the vent may assist cause number 2).

Maybe there are more reasons. I have seen some longer threads in forums where people argue about all of the above. The bottom line, I guess, is that water will eventually get in there so you need to be prepared to deal with it.

I can't find the data at the moment but a while back I looked it up and it turns out that water can dissolve in diesel to almost exactly the same extent that it can in air. This is temperature-dependent so, just like air, there's a "dew point" temperature. If the temperature drops below that point and the fuel has lots of dissolved water, it'll condense out into liquid phase and fall to the bottom of the tank.

In this episode we finish planking the bulwarks - but before the last planks can be fastened, the stanchions themselves have to each be cut down to their final length and have a tenon cut into the top.

Meanwhile, Patrick makes a beautiful oak post inside the boat, as well as a bulkhead that divides the galley and the chart table.

The winter weather bring snow and flooding, causing disruption in the boatyard but creating some beautiful scenery.

For those who don't follow Leo on Instagram (@SampsonBoatCo), he posted on the 22nd that he's back in Port Townsend, having sorted out his US visa. Such things can be fraught, so this is possibly the most important positive news about the project that you could ask for. He's subsequently posted that substantial progress is being made on the spars, and he showed Zeal getting close to being able to hang the rudder. I'm stoked for the next few months, and honestly, I think we'll see a visibly more relaxed Leo when the videos catch up to the present state of things.

Do you think Leo gets a special visa because of the historically significant work he is doing? I can't imagine it is a tourist visa since he is kinda running a business in America that employs people. Curious.
He might be able to get a business visa just because of the size of the operation at this stage. It's a good question.

The more Leo hangs out with Russel Brown, the more he appreciates that Epoxy is not necessarily a bad thing. NB, I have a big rant ready to go about the British traditional-craftsmanship-to-irrational-conservatism pipeline with examples involving the use of bow thrusters and aluminum hulls in (canal) narrowboats but I really don't have time now. Anyway I'm sure that overall, it's just great that this project is happening in Port Townsend.

For canal boats and their lifespan/maintenance - why do you think alumium would be better? I can't see any advantage.
I agree bow thruster might be a big help
I like some of the new builds that use an electric drive, Lipo Fe batts, with the genset way up in the bow. Much quieter at the helm
