Leo addresses that in a two part episode about three years ago, the one where he gives a talk in the UK Ocean Racing Club about his story and finding Tally-Ho.I just watched episode 1. It did not address the scantlings that I could see.
my best guess is that they overbuilt these because they expected them to decay. and so the boat would live on despite the rot. I guess history concurs.I just watched episode 1. It did not address the scantlings that I could see.
Removable cockpit for future acces is brilliant!! Where is the info about Browns input coming from?I am appreciating how much Russel Brown has rubbed off on the construction of the boat (the removable cockpit) as well as the time and care that has gone into the electrical installation -- Leo is a dream client.
Russel was in a few videos back. Been seeing a lot more epoxy ever sinceRemovable cockpit for future acces is brilliant!! Where is the info about Browns input coming from?
Those long bores came out dead on.
I agree. I also find the shaft clutch system kinda clunky -- but i couldn't begin to imagine how one would design a better solution.Kinda suprised the engine system doesn't already integrate a shaft clutch, given that it's a prerequisite to intended operation.
EPISODE 149
In this episode we trick Patty with some fake poop, we shock our faces with microcurrent in the name of capitalism, and we discover the best places to warm tortillas on your diesel engine.
On a more serious note, we also talk about the dangers of electrocution at sea and catch up with progress on Tally Ho’s systems - including a full explanation of the electrical distribution locker, the black water plumbing system, and the hybrid shaft-clutch mechanism.
