..and the funny thing is - I literally knocked wood while writing that. (both times ;-)

what is it about wooden boats that invites superstition?

EPISODE 152

In this episode Zeal fits the cast bronze rudder hardware to the boat, and he and Patrick hot-rivet the gudgeons through the purple heart stern-post.

Nic does some beautiful work on the “front door” and we find out where this door is actually destined to live.

We also follow the construction of the trim tab, which is made from Alaskan Yellow Cedar with a bronze pin running through it, and then protected with G10 plate and fibreglass cloth.

This was the first video where I thought that where the scaling up of effort really landed with me - it feels like we are less than one year to go, less probably before a splash. With systems and cabinetry lashing away, mast and rigging in serious production, sails probably too (I am guessing we will hear more imminently on that topic). I guess there is still a lot of 'attaching' things - and custom fittings - cleats, wherever all that rigging connects on the hull, etc. And more systems - especially electronics. But the team has scaled and will scale more (e.g. soft furnishings). The race is on....
